- 是測試範圍更窄的回歸測試，它只關心一部分功能。sanity test通常窄而深。
- 主要用來驗證在系統經過一個小的改動後其某一部分小功能沒有問題。
- 用來驗證系統是否滿足規格說明
對於軟體開發而言，是必要的。在開發流程中，會有針對開發項目，由RD產生的Unit Test，及自動化測試的Auto Test 來作為function 的正常性驗證。

工程模式 engineering mode 常見簡稱 "工模"。
