因為委內瑞拉經濟嚴重下滑，近年來已經有數百萬名委內瑞拉民眾出走至國外，許多人將委國經濟危機歸咎於現任總統馬杜洛，其錯誤的經濟政策導致通膨飆升、飢荒遍野。

此外，委內瑞拉還出現政權危機，鬧出兩個總統 —— 反對派及國會領袖瓜伊多宣誓就任臨時總統，並立即獲得美國與南美洲各國家承認。因不滿川普挺反對派，隨後，正式總統馬杜洛宣布與美國斷絕外交關係。

再看經過了2020疫情，整個委內瑞拉的狀況：

委內瑞拉中央銀行今天表示，委國在2020年終時，通貨膨脹為3000%。委內瑞拉這個富藏石油的國家，深陷現代史上最嚴重經濟危機，已連續第7年經濟衰退。法新社報導，委內瑞拉嚴重缺糧、醫藥不足，甚至連最基本的衛生紙、肥皂都缺。央行表示，委內瑞拉2019年通膨率為9585%。

委內瑞拉玻利瓦共和國（西班牙語：República Bolivariana de Venezuela），通稱委內瑞拉，是一個位於南美洲北部的熱帶國家，為南美洲國家聯盟的成員國。首都為卡拉卡斯。西與哥倫比亞接壤，東與蓋亞那毗鄰，南與巴西交界。海岸線包括北部加勒比海及東北部大西洋島嶼總長約2,800公里。委內瑞拉生物多樣性豐富，為西至安地斯山脈、南至亞馬遜盆地、東至奧里諾科河三角洲物種的生物棲息地。

Venezuela, a powerhouse with an extensive and successful history in beauty pageants, is considered as the most powerful country in beauty pageants,[1] with a total of one-hundred-and-thirty-one placements and twenty-three victories in all four pageants:

• Seven — Miss Universe titles (1979 • 1981 • 1986 • 1996 • 2008 • 2009 • 2013)
• Six — Miss World titles (1955 • 1981 • 1984 • 1991 • 1995 • 2011)
• Eight — Miss International titles (1985 • 1997 • 2000 • 2003 • 2006 • 2010 • 2015 • 2018)
• Two — Miss Earth titles (2005 • 2013)

With 23 victorious titles, Venezuela has reputedly won more than any other country in pageantry. Venezuela is also the first and only country to win all the four pageants multiple times. Venezuela has twice won two Big Four crowns in one year, winning Miss Universe 1981 and Miss World 1981 and then Miss Universe 2013 and Miss Earth 2013. In the past, the main organiser for Venezuelan pageants was the former famed beauty queen maker, Osmel Sousa. The current National Director is Gabriela Isler - Miss Universe 2013.
